Trogli Day 14,15,16 - Permanent Camp Setup

 

Trogli needed 4 Hearths to enable the whole area to be buildable. He put a Forging area in one building and a bedroll in the other. The Forging area included Pallets and Chests for forging materials.

Trogli went for dual Furnaces to double his Ingot creating capacity.

The Workbench, Oven and Gem Cutter were all placed outside his sleeping room. The corner to the right is reserved for Brew Stations.

A single Meal table can service any of the Hearths and you get a nice particle effect to show the link.

Trogli built defences of Barrier, Wall, Barrier at both the entrances. Access is by jumping on the Small Stone Pillar.

The Great Forge side is wider and there is an exit via the ramp on the right. A Small Stone Pillar on the wall gives a sniping position.

Finally the dilapidated walls needed some Dwarf Hammer work. The main item outstanding is a Mapstone for Fast Travel. It needs 3 Black Diamonds to set up.

Trogli Day 11,12,13 - Permanent Camp Options

Trogli started by crafting his Mining Helmet and Erebor Ringmail. 

Next he scouted out various locations mining out some Ore Lodes to see if there was a suitable cave location.

He couldn't find a large enough cave so settled for this corner location that is near the Great Forge and is quite defensible.

During this time Trogli constantly collected loads of food and Elven Wood and crafted Dried Fruit trail food.

Trogli Day 10 - All a bit Elvish

 

Trogli started the day crafting an Oven ...

... and baking a batch of Elvish Lembas.

Trogli forged an Elvish Aeglos style spear ..

... and the Masterwork Shieldwall which goes in a special slot (zero key). A Dwarf can only have one item in this special slot and it cannot go in the inventory. Folflorin told Trogli this shield is very valuable as it can never break.

Trogli set about clearing the Orcs from the Elven Quarter and got some help from a bear. The bear being close to this area rules it out as a main camp and anyway Trogli feels this area is too open, sunny and Elvish.

One of the chests contained a sapphire, very handy.

Trogli knows he will need quite a bit of steel so gets the furnace working.

These wolves will be sorry. Lets all sing If a wolf should pad along my path ...

Sidenote - The mining and ale songs in the game are fantastic folk/sea shanty style and fit perfectly in with the Tolkien lore.

Trogli Day 9 - Siege delays Bronze

 

Trogli built a Camp Fire to enable him to craft the Bellows required for Bronze smelting and wasted a lot of time trying to position it to cover all the stations. It looks like the centre of the craft station needs to be within the Camp Fire area. He created 3 Copper Ingots for an Oven.

Trogli decided it was time to clear out the goblins from the camp near his new Forge.

Before Trogli could open the Orc Chest a siege started. Interestingly the Hearth in the room not the one in the cave was the focus (see the red flame).  Trogli wondered if a sacrifice Hearth might be possible for a siege.

Siege over and hanger on orcs dealt with it was back to the Forge but Trogli was interrupted again, this time by a wolf.

Wolf dealt with its back to crafting Bronze ...

... and finally opened the Orc Chest. Trogli went to bed dreaming of a Spear & Shield.
