Trogli Day 3 - Sword, Shield and Elven Quarter

 

Trogli had forgotten to get some hide scraps so went out to find some of the stripey boars. He could then craft Sword, Shield, Armour and Gauntlets.

He intended to find the Elven Quarter, checking the map it looks like he needs to go south.

Trogli managed to put his newly crafted gear to the test on some orc necks.

On his way south he found the first piece of Durin's Axe ...

... and restored a statue to Durin.

He was warned about some graffiti artist called Tharkûn and soon found an example of his handiwork.

Ignoring the kings ban he broke through to the Elven Quarter ...

... and found the orcs had set up near an abandoned camp. He managed to sneak in unnoticed ...

... and set up a temporary camp.

With wolves and orcs about he set up a couple of stone barriers then settled down for the night. 

Trogli Day 2 - Chased by Wolves & Besieged

Trogli started the day setting the Furnace going and crafting Ori's Key to open his chest. This is always a good idea as the key costs 2 Iron Ingots and the chest contains 3 Iron Ingots and 6 Coal.

Trogli starts adventuring and sees goblins but they don't attack on Day 2 (allegedly), only wolves to worry about. He made sure he had a good stone supply to restore all the statues he finds, to get the armour and weapon recipes.

He finds Ori's Muzanakun but he does not intend to try and find the carvings as Folflorin told him to focus on the next region.

Trogli will need lots of Coal for Steel soon, he just mines a stack of 30 for now.

Trogli finally finds a good Iron Ore Lode and gets to work, he needs at least 60, more if possible.

His mining attracted those snarling wolves again and they didn't go away ...

... so he has to leg it back to camp.

The barrier keeps them out, phew.

Trogli works into the night crafting loads of Iron Ingots when he is very surprised by a siege. Folflorin said these only start on Day 3! So much for watching and not attacking. The goblins focus on smashing things, Trogli uses his hammer to keep the Stone Barrier repaired.

Siege over now the real fun starts. A few remaining goblins start firing arrows and numerous bats turn up. Should have gone to sleep on time after all.

Nearly dead ...

... a meal arrives in the nick of time. Refreshed Trogli kills the one remaining goblin and gets some well earned rest.
 

Trogli Day 1 - Nearly killed by Wolves

Trogli made his way to Ori's camp and started the tutorial remembering to kill 3 Snackrats on the way, tasty?

While waiting for his rat burger Trogli examined Ori's records that talk about pieces of Durin's Axe and found Ori's chest.

After restoring the Furnace its off to start mining ...

... and Trogli is lucky to hit a reasonably sized Iron Ore lode.

Trogli gets the furnace going and heads out to find some leather scraps.

He runs into 2 wolves who get him stun locked ...

... and he RUNS AWAY and waits for them to wander off.

Trogli returns to camp but moments later the wolves are back. He defends himself with his axe and it breaks!

With barely any health left he RUNS AWAY AGAIN.

This time when the wolves leave he puts up a stone barrier to keep them out.

He restores the Forge ... 

... but crafts the Iron Hammer not the sword. Trogli wants some recipes that give some defence against wolf bites! 
 

Trogli Heads for Khazad-dûm

 

Trogli of the Blue Mountains has heeded Gimli's call and heads to Khazad-dûm to reclaim it for the Dwarves. He is a Cave Dweller, with pale skin, red eyes and a white beard.

Trogli managed to have a long conversation with Folflorin over a number of beers and has a better idea of how to tackle his early adventures.

Trogli reminds me of the lovely actor Buster Merryfield who was famous for playing Uncle Albert in Only Fools and Horses. I hope Trogli has more luck than Uncle Albert's ships!

Folflorin Retires - Trogli starts afresh

Folflorin couldn't find the Maul recipe needed for the first boss fight and has retired in frustration.

Following the announcement that this is issue is fixed, Trogli the Cave Dweller has decided to take up the challenge.
